Speakerphone in Movies and TV
Welcome To My Speakerphone Video Store! Here are some of my favorite movies and TV shows, where speakerphone rides in to Save The Day. If you see something you like, click on the title and buy it! :)
Charlie's Angels (1976-present) In the TV series as well as the movies, Charlie does not physically meet with his Angels. He is always a voice on speakerphone. In the Season One episode “Nothing to Fear But…” Eastbridge, NY Police Commissioner Tony Scali is so excited about his new speakerphone that he wants to call everyone, including George H.W. Bush (41) and Mikhail Gorbachev. He laments that ”sometimes life is really unfair” when the speakerphone does not work properly. DC 9/11: Time of Crisis (2003) The Prime Minister of Israel, Ariel Sharon, puts United States President George W. Bush on speakerphone so the Israeli cabinet can participate in the conversation. The President of the United States conducts several conversations on speakerphone so his advisors can be privy to the calls. Det. Vincent Hanna is placed on speakerphone when calling into the station so that several of his colleagues can receive his information and be part of the conversation. Noriega: God’s Favorite (2000) The figurehead President of Panama puts his de facto boss, military strongman General Manuel A. “Tony” Noriega, on speakerphone so the President's “aide” (read: Noriega-appointed minder) can hear the conversation. John Carter finds himself on speakerphone when calling the office to complain about his new assignment, so his boss and co-workers, who hate him, can all hear and laugh at him. Tony Montana uses speakerphone so he can walk around his office and be hands-free to rant, rave, take off his suit jacket, and do lines of cocaine while declaring war on his supplier, Alejandro Sosa. During a Season 3 episode, Capt. David Aceveda uses speakerphone so that he, Walon (commander of the Decoy Squad), Vic Mackey (commander of the Strike Team), and several others can participate in a call with members of the Decoy Squad who are staking out a motel where a suspect is supposed to be hiding.
